About

As our climate warms, and hurricanes and other natural disasters increase in frequency and intensity, this fund will serve as DigitalOcean's ongoing support of the hardest hit communities. The organizations included in this fund are active, on-the-ground supporting disaster relief across the world. A few recent examples include Hurricanes Maria and Fiona in Puerto Rico, and Hurricane Ian in Cuba, Florida and other parts of the southeast US. We've created this fund for our employees to give what they can to help communities hit hardest by these natural disasters. Feel free to donate to this fund, which will share donations across the multiple organizations included below, or click into one or more of the organizations to donate directly. Additionally, if you have other organizations supporting relief efforts that you'd like to see added to this list, please reach out to the DO Impact team. As always, DO will match every dollar donated by its employees.

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises. Applying our model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK has served hundreds of millions nourishing meals around the world.When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes with the urgency of now to start cooking meals for people in need. WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly by partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or kitchens. To support regional economies, WCK prioritizes purchasing local ingredients to cook with or distribute. Food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis.

Americares is a health-focused relief and development organization that saves lives and improves health for people affected by poverty or disaster. For more than 40 years, we have responded rapidly and effectively to the needs of our local partners and their communities.

CORE Community Organized Relief Effort

CORE responds quickly to needs on the ground as they evolve while addressing the deeper roots of a crisis. When there’s a crisis, we don’t just bandage the superficial wounds. We work together with the local community to support their immediate holistic needs and a path to long-term recovery. Disasters are devastating. There’s no getting around that. But we believe they’re an opportunity to address the inequities and prevent future devastation for the most vulnerable populations.
