The mission of Latin American Youth Center (LAYC) is to empower a diverse population of youth to achieve a successful transition to adulthood through multi-cultural, comprehensive, and innovative programs that address youths' social, academic, and career needs.For 50 years, LAYC has been committed to transforming the lives of low-income young people and their families. LAYC offers multi-service, comprehensive, and bilingual enrichment, prevention, and intervention programs and opportunities in education, workforce readiness, housing, community building, mental health services, arts, and healthy recreation to over 5,000 individuals each year.
Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition Inc
BROOKLYN BRIDGE ANIMAL WELFARE COALITION (BBAWC) WAS FOUNDED BY A GROUP OF ANIMAL RESCUERS IN 2007 WITH A FOCUS ON IMPROVING THE WELFARE OF ABANDONED ANIMALS IN BROOKLYN. THE ORGANIZATION BEGAN WORKING WITH INDIVIDUAL ANIMAL RESCUERS TO PROVIDE LOW COST VETERINARY SERVICES, ADOPTION LISTING AND SCREENING SERVICES. IN 2016 WE LAUNCHED THE BROOKLYN CAT CAFE, ONE OF THE EARLIEST CAT CAFES IN THE US, AND ONE OF THE FEW RUN BY A NON-PROFIT ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANIZATION. OUR MISSION IS TO SAVE OUR CITY'S CATS, AND WE ADVANCE IT BY OFFERING A HIP AND INVITING DESTINATION WHERE CAT LOVERS OF ALL AGES CAN INTERACT WITH ADOPTABLE ANIMALS - AND ONE ANOTHER - WHILE LEARNING ABOUT PET RESCUE AND CARE. IN 2021 WE BEGAN OFFERING LOW COST VETERINARY SERVICES AND SPAY/NEUTER SERVICES TO RESCUERS AND LOW INCOME INDIVIDUALS TO STOP CAT OVERPOPULATION AND ASSIST RESCUERS WITH PLACING ADOPTABLE ANIMALS.
