Maxim Gorky Community Library & Cinema Renovation Initiative Fund
We would like to request your support for a vital cause that holds a special place in the hearts of our community. The Maxim Gorky Library and Cinema have been cherished hubs of culture, education, and entertainment for decades. However, the wear and tear of time, compounded by a severe leak during the last winter, have left these beloved institutions in desperate need of restoration. Our mission is clear: to breathe new life into the Maksim Gorky Library and Cinema, ensuring that they remain vibrant centers of inspiration and knowledge for generations to come. We invite you to be a part of this transformative journey by contributing to our donation campaign. Why Your Support Matters: Library Renovation: Our library has been a source of education and enlightenment for our community. But, over the years, it has suffered from dilapidation, a lack of modern resources, and an aging infrastructure. With your help, we can renovate the library, create inviting reading spaces, and update our collection with the latest books and digital resources. Restoration of the Cinema: The Maxim Gorky Cinema has been a source of joy and cultural enrichment, screening classic and contemporary films. Unfortunately, it has also fallen into disrepair. Your donation will help restore this cinema to its former glory, providing a space where our community can come together to appreciate the magic of film. Ceiling and Wall Repairs: The library and cinema's ceilings and walls were severely damaged by a winter leak, jeopardizing the safety and comfort of our patrons. Your contribution will allow us to address these critical repairs, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment. Your generosity will not only help restore the Maxim Gorky Library and Cinema but will also preserve the cultural heritage and community spirit they represent. We sincerely appreciate your consideration of this important cause and look forward to your support. Together, we can make a difference.

2023 Rabo AgriFinance Summer Food Drive Fund
On behalf of the 2023 rural interns, we are excited to announce the details for the 2023 food drive! Click below to watch a video with all of the details. How to donate: We are collecting non-perishable food items in our offices or you can make a monetary donation directly via Bright Funds. A fund has been created in Bright Funds for Feeding America, or you can donate to a local food pantry of your choice. If you aren’t near an office, but would still like to participate, items can be taken to a local food pantry. After donations have been made, send a photo of the items or the monetary donation receipt to your selected territory’s intern listed below. How scoring works: • 1 point = $1 (or one item) • Gift matching contributions via Bright Funds will not count toward the total, but employees with gift matching left for 2023 are encouraged to match their donation • If you are not officially assigned to a territory, you can select whichever one you’d like to support in the competition • Regardless of how you donate, send an email that includes the number of items or dollar amount you donated to the intern for the territory you wish to contribute to. Pictures are encouraged when possible. Make sure your email includes the amount donated, organization you donated to and which territory team you’re on. When to donate: You have until noon CT Friday, July 28 for it to count for the competition. Who to contact: Central – Weston Guetterman East – Ryan Winkler Pacific – Kimberly Ponce West – Halle Schindler We are excited to be giving and volunteering in our communities and can’t wait to see who is crowned as the winning territory. Thank you to all that participate this year! Sincerely, The 2023 Interns

United Way 2-1-1 is the crucial tool that our community needs to help local people navigate new and ongoing challenges. With a database of more than 24,000 programs and services throughout Missouri and Southwest Illinois, 2-1-1 connects local people with free, fast and confidential assistance to move from crisis to stability. WHY IT MATTERS When COVID-19 hit the St. Louis region in 2020, 2-1-1 received more than 192,000 requests for assistance, a 54% increase compared to 2019. 2-1-1 helped more than 8,100 people keep food on the table, assisted 17,277 people in accessing healthcare and connected more than 4,100 people to transportation. 2-1-1 also partnered with local agencies to create a COVID-19 hotline, which provided up-to-date information about testing, re-opening guidelines, and much more to the nearly 13,899 people who called. 2-1-1 provides critical help, from mental health supports to food and housing assistance to transportation and more, connecting local people to resources needed to thrive. With a goal of being accessible to each caller in the way that works best for them, 2-1-1 launched texting capabilities this past June, in addition to being available through phone, online chat and mobile app, with multilingual service for up to 250 different languages. United Way 2-1-1 works hard on its own to create partnerships that will ultimately change lives of those in need, but it still needs your backing to continue supporting the community 24/7. With United Way 2-1-1 serving over 500 calls a day, there is a great need for this service in our area. United Way 2-1-1 is the heart and soul of what United Way strives to do.
