I'm putting together this fundraiser for my birthday to support the fantastic work done by the charity Mind. Every year, 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health issue, a staggering number considering how little we speak about this problem. In light of this, I would be very grateful if you could make a small contribution, which will be put towards acts of advocacy, awareness and support for people struggling.

2020 COVID-19 Disaster Relief Fund - Yemen ( Yemen Sadly is going through the Worst Humanitarian Crises in the world 24 million Starving) Yemen is the largest Humanitarian crises in the world with more than 24million people (80% of the population in need of humanitarian assistance). They are fighting Epidemic (Cholera), a pandemic (COVID- 19), a famine (Scarcity of food) and a War all at the same time!! The COVID-19 pandemic added to people’s suffering in Yemen it is hitting vulnerable communities those living in war zones and internally displaced peoples hardest. Without consistent access to running water, sanitation, medical services and inability to keep physical distance, these communities are at great risk. To help protect and support these communities, the ICRC's teams are fighting to prevent the spread of this disease by supporting vital health care centers and providing crucial items and working with the Yemen Red Crescent to improve the conditions of people in 18 quarantine facilities through the donation of household items, food, medical supplies , medicines, personal protective items, personal hygiene and cleaning items, among others. ROAR Against COVID-19 Risk Oriented Antiviral Repurposing Against COVID-19: A Proposed Clinical Trial

Cancer is increasingly a global health issue. The World Health Organization (WHO) projects that, by 2035, the world could see 24 million new cancer cases and 14.5 million cancer-related deaths a year. This increase will constitute a challenging burden on healthcare systems in countries with limited resources like Jordan and many other neighboring countries. In Jordan, more than 5000 new cases are diagnosed on yearly basis. The general belief in Jordan is that there is no family who hasn’t suffered from this devious disease!

Calling on our Cisco family to help support an amazing opportunity to assist more than one million Americans living with blood cancers. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has nominated our own, Tina Swallow as a candidate in the “Man & Woman of the Year” fundraising campaign. We have a small team working to raise as much money as possible in a 10-week period for LLS. We have from May 7, 2020 - July 18, 2020, to meet our goals! Every dollar raised counts as one vote and the candidate who gets the most votes (raises the most money) is named the Man or Woman of the Year. This year, the National Capital Area (NCA) chapter of LLS selected 26 candidates to reach its fundraising goal of $3.5 million. I know these are unprecedented times and COVID-19 is changing the world at a rapid pace. Times are hard, there are fears and a lot of unknowns. In these challenging times, there is one thing we do know – Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer and the COVID-19 crisis does nothing to change that fact. In addition to a grueling battle against cancer, patients are now faced with the threat of a virus that could put them at further risk, as well as the possibility of delays in treatment, as hospitals face maximum capacity. This campaign is very personal to Tina. Her oldest son Beau was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer at age 12 and was given a 5-7% chance of surviving past treatment. The W.H.O. has declared COVID-19 a pandemic and public health emergency of international concern. Bright Funds Foundation has established the 2020 Coronavirus Healthcare Fund to support medical care systems and healthcare workers. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. Given the ever-changing nature of this pandemic and widespread impact, the composition of the nonprofits in this Fund may evolve.

Join us supporting the Costa Rican Red Cross prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. As an example, Red Cross has been a huge ally during the COVID-19 emergency; providing ambulance transportation, medical equipment, health supplies and others. Costa Rican Red Cross is also working with public health officials on COVID-19 plans to respond as needed to the ongoing threat of flooding, severe storms and wildfires.

Every great challenge is an opportunity to show strength. This fund is an opportunity for the US Private Sector EUC team to step up and show their support for important organizations doing great work for Coronavirus Response and Recovery.

COVID 19 Support for PCRF

As most of our countries are facing unprecedented challenges due to the arise of the COVID-19 pandemic, the stress on government agencies has been leveled extreme. The economic impact of COVID-19 on countries is disastrous, aggravating the situation of many in need. In Jordan, for instance, the nation-wide lock down over the past few weeks has substantially affected people with low income; specifically, the impact on those who work on a daily basis income has been marked substantial as they are unable to attend to their duties nor get the appropriate nutrition for survival. Through the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, our initiative is to support concern hospitals in Jordan with the COVID health requirement during these difficult times.

We are all affected by the growing COVID-19 pandemic. It's an unprecedented health challenge and we know people and organizations everywhere want to help. The World Health Organization is leading and coordinating the global effort, supporting countries to prevent, detect, and respond to the pandemic. The greatest need right now is to help ensure all countries are prepared, especially those with the weakest health systems. Donations support WHO’s work to track and understand the spread of the virus; to ensure patients get the care they need and frontline workers get essential supplies and information; and to accelerate efforts to develop vaccines, tests, and treatments. In these tough times, many of us have been unable to procure some of the basic healthcare services, after testing Covid positive, even if we had the resources and means to afford them. If this is the case with us, think about those underprivileged and homeless habitants of the city, who probably do not even know which medicine to take to ease their bodyaches or how to procure food if they feel fatigue after getting the virus. The Indian Women and Child Welfare Trust are providing free dry ration and hygiene kits to more than 350 persons in need of food in west Delhi slum areas monthly. To make this possible, Indian Women and Child Welfare Trust is starting a Food Distributing Program. Wherein we aim to make and distribute at least 900-1000 Dry Ration Bags and Wellness Kits – comprising some basic over the counter medicines, a tetrapack of ORS, etc. The least that we can do, is give everyone a chance to give a tough fight to this virus. Help us do that and donate for those who need some care in these times.

COVID-19 Outreach

I originally planned to do RideLondon to raise money for Kidney Research UK. Due to 'rona, RideLondon has inevitably been cancelled. Instead, I will be completing a solo 300km (180 mile) cycle on 12th September! (Obeying any social distancing rules active at the time.) I'm aiming for my initial fundraising target for #TEAMKIDNEY. Thank you everyone who has already donated. Some of my family members (myself included) have autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (PKD). Any size donation is welcome, and any donation is matched 100% by the company I work for. Hence, Kidney Research UK gets double whatever you donate!

I am a St. Jude Hero! I have chosen to run for a reason bigger than myself by fundraising for the kids and families at St. Jude.
