Throughout March, we honor the incredible achievements, resilience, and contributions of women around the world.

The Elim Foundation was founded on December 3, 1993 with the aim of: Building and maintaining facilities for the Elim Children's Home and all related projects that benefit the children. The idea for this arose when Cees Rijke came into contact with large groups of street children in Indonesia during his work as a tour guide. Cees has adopted several children and, among others, gave Isaac a name: Isaac Rijke Sayuna. When Isaac grew up, he wanted to help other children who, like him, no longer had a home or family to care for them. Cees' meeting with Rianne Noordzij resulted in the concrete plan for the establishment of the Elim Foundation. Isaac Rijke Sayuna is married to Nonoi. Together they have four children and Isaac and Nonoi manage the activities on site. Target group and the request for help Elim mainly focuses on children who have to miss their parents at a very young age. There are also stray children whose parents cannot care for them. The children in the Elim children's home often do not know when they were born. Most children have had traumatic experiences. Unfortunately, the children are already around ten years old when it turns out that things are going very badly for them. In this remote corner of Indonesia there are no local authorities that provide care, so the population has to rely mainly on private initiative, which is what Elim focuses on. ​ That is why care and attention for housing, education, nutrition, clothing and medical care for those children is still desperately needed. Isaac and Nonoi and the employees of the Elim Foundation want to break the negative spiral and give children the chance for a better life.

Around 18,000 women get diagnosed for breast cancer on a yearly base in the Netherlands. Around 6,000 of the diagnoses are young women in the age between 25 and 50 years old. The number is growing. Women below 50 years old are not included in the annual breast cancer screening provided by the government. BUT THERE IS HOPE! A new way of breast cancer screening, which should become available to all age group is developed. It is currently preparing for real- life testing on women in Eindhoven. The YvYa foundation is helping raising funds to make this happen. Help donate, to make early and painless detection of breast cancer quickly available to all women of any age.

Der Tierschutzverein für Berlin ist ein Verein mit langer Tradition. Mit einer Fläche von 16 Hektar ist das Tierheim Berlin so groß wie 22 Fußballfelder. Es gibt vier große Katzenhäuser, sechs große Hundehäuser, ein Kleintierhaus, ein Vogelhaus sowie ein großes Gehege für freilebende Katzen. Hinzu kommt der Tierschutz-Bauernhof für sogenannte Nutztiere wie Schweine, Ziegen, Schafe, Gänse und Hühner sowie eine Exotenstation für Reptilien, Affen und andere exotische Tiere. Darüber hinaus verfügt das Tierheim Berlin über eine eigene Tierarztpraxis mit moderner Einrichtung, eine Katzennotstation sowie einen modern ausgestatteten Veranstaltungssaal, der für Veranstaltungen gemietet werden kann. Am Rande des Tierheims befinden sich außerdem ein Tierfriedhof sowie ein großes Hundeauslaufgebiet mit Spielmöglichkeiten. "Where there is a child in need, there is TFCF". Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF) is an international non-governmental organization that dedicates itself to awarding needy children and their families with welfare and benefits. TFCF has been founded for 73 years. There have been lots of remarkable achievements in helping underprivileged children and families around 34 countries.

Every person in the Netherlands will at some stage have an experience with cancer. When you have cancer, it disrupts your life, but also when someone you know has the disease. The consequences are overwhelming. To all those millions of lives, every day we can make the difference, successfully, for more than 71 years. We not only fight this disease, but we also strive for a better life living with cancer. We work on life-changing research and make sure that expensive medicines are available quickly to everyone. From approachable open houses to the safe community kanker.nl making sure we can support everyone who is living with cancer. And by mobilising the whole of the Netherlands for our joint mission. To make sure fewer people get cancer, more people are cured and more people live better with and after cancer. Simply because there’s so much to live for.

Active scouting group that welcomes all young people between 4 and 21 years old. The raised money is specially for setting up a new area for children's activities.

The "Life Portrait Foundation" (Stichting Levensportet) gives terminally ill people the opportunity to record their life stories in a professional video portrait free of charge. As a valuable memory for their loved ones. Creating such a video portrait costs ~450 euro to make. After reading about this organization in an Instagram post, it made sense to request adding this organization to the Brightfunds platform.

March is Women's History Month, an annual celebration and recognition of women's achievements and contributions to society throughout American history. The 2024 theme for Women's History Month is; “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion” and aims to highlight women who have historically fought for the elimination of discrimination and bias. The following organizations are supporting and recognizing the importance of women's contributions to all facets of American society through education, advocacy, and direct services.

2024 SOUPer Bowl Fund

More than half of all elderly people in the Netherlands feel lonely. Especially when they live on their own, with physical difficulties, or in financial or social poverty. Foundation "Met je hart " organizes meetings for them in local venues so they can enjoy each other’s company and make new friends. Our foundation does not ask any contribution from the elderly people when organizing our meetings and is fully dependent on voluntary contributions via company or individual sponsoring. Tubereuze Sclerose Complex (TSC) is een erfelijke aandoening waarbij op verschillende plaatsen in het lichaam goedaardige tumoren ontstaan. De goedaardige tumoren kunnen onder andere voorkomen in de hersenen, de longen, de nieren en op de huid. Omdat er verschillende organen betrokken zijn bij het ziektebeeld spreken we van Tubereuze Sclerosis ‘Complex’. Wat ook veel voorkomt bij mensen met TSC zijn sociale en emotionele problemen, epilepsie en/of een verstandelijke beperking en autisme. www.stsn.nl

The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and our North County Food Bank chapter comprise the largest hunger-relief organization in San Diego County. Last year, the Food Bank distributed 45 million pounds of food, and the Food Bank serves, on average, 400,000 people per month in San Diego County

February is Black History Month when we recognize the accomplishments of Black Americans. This year, the theme of the month is African Americans and the Arts to recognize “the many impacts Black Americans have had on visual arts, music, cultural movements, and more.” This fund supports the charities that support the African American community by promoting economic and social justice for Black Americans, fighting racism and intolerance in the United States, and supporting the contributions of African Americans in the arts. The composition of nonprofits in this fund may be subject to change.

BASS created the "Identity Through Expression" fund in Bright Funds to offer financial support to vital nonprofits supporting the community. Each organization was carefully selected to represent the multitude of voices within the Arts community. Each organization contributes to a collective narrative that celebrates the richness of heritage, fosters unity, and amplifies stories that might otherwise go unheard.

Empower our collective impact for Black History Month! The ETS Center for Advocacy and Philanthropy united with the BOLD BRG, organized a lunch & learn health series in collaboration with the American Heart Association, the National Kidney Foundation, and the National Association for Mental Illness. These organizations need our financial support to help fund critical research, bring awareness and resources to individuals that are suffering from health complications. Your donation will fuel progress in cardiovascular health, kidney care, and mental wellness. Let's champion these vital organizations, donate now to make a lasting difference!

National Stalking Awareness Month, which is recognized annually throughout the month of January, aims to increase public knowledge surrounding the crime of stalking. The Stalking Prevention, Awareness, & Resource Center (SPARC) defines stalking as "a pattern of behavior directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to fear for the person’s safety or the safety of others; or suffer substantial emotional distress," and millions of people are impacted by stalking every year. The following organizations are supporting those who have experienced the crime of stalking through education, advocacy, policy, and direct support.

Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, which occurs annually during the month of January, aims to raise awareness surrounding the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cervical cancer. The organizations selected for this Fund are doing the critical work to raise awareness by promoting regular health screenings and providing education to the masses while engaging in advocacy and research efforts with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.

Glaucoma Awareness Month, which occurs annually during the month of January, aims to raise awareness surrounding the impacts of glaucoma which affects more than 3 million people across the United States. Glaucoma often develops with no early symptoms, and many do not know they have glaucoma until their vision is significantly impacted. The following organizations are doing the critical work to raise awareness surrounding glaucoma, investing in cutting-edge research to treat glaucoma, and educating the masses on the importance of early detection and regular eye exams.

January is National Blood Donor Month, a movement to raise awareness surrounding the critical need for blood donations. Organizations such as the American Red Cross heavily rely on blood donors to help provide lifesaving treatments to those who need them. To participate, you can visit your local blood donation center to provide a blood donation, or you can make a donation to this Fund to support the mission of the American Red Cross, as they provide around 40% of the nation's blood.
